About Wheels America
The first Wheels America location was opened in 1994 to offer a solution to damaged aluminum car wheels. Through green fielding and acquisition, Wheels America is now comprised of six facilities with the focus of providing Exceptional Solutions to All Wheel Needs.
The data acquired since 1994 has allowed us to lead and change with the automotive wheel industry. Our business has evolved over twenty years, what was once a repair only business has turned into a combination of repair, on site repair, inventory and data driven model.
Although we cater to the needs of anyone looking to repair or replaced their damaged original wheel, the majority of our business comes from collision centers, body shops, new and used car dealers, tire centers, and OE wheel brokers. We do offer retail options at all of our locations.
From the service drive at a collision center in Dallas, Texas, it was 1994 and Bob Stretch watched as damaged aluminum wheels were almost always replaced with costly new wheels during a collision repair.
From his home garage in Grand Prairie, Texas Bob began to repair these damaged wheels at night. Using a combination of welding, heating, and machining he was able to recondition these damaged wheels to be in like new condition in a short period of time. From there a shop was rented down the street, a small staff was hired and it would be called Wheels America.
The original members of the team continue to be a part of the 150+ Wheels America staff including Bob's once roommate and now partner Paul Myers who relocated to Houston, Texas.
